Coldwater Canyon Reservoir

Owner: The City of Beverly Hills

Architect: Tetratec

Landscape Architect: Withers & Sandgren LTD

General Contractor: SEMA Construction Inc.

In 2007 the City of Beverly Hills began a $22.5 million project to replace the Coldwater Canyon Reservoir originally constructed in 1928. Although the reservoir was regularly maintained, damages caused by the Sylmar and Northridge earthquakes required the complete replacement of the site. In addition to increasing the water capacity of the reservoir, the city also updated the 605-acre park area with a synthetic jogging track, seating areas, feature fountain and playground.

I recognize Shaw & Sons as the subcontractor without whom we would have lost on this $2.5 million Passive Park project constructed in the City of Beverly Hills in 2009/2010. Mike Lamanski of Shaw & Sons not only oversaw the work, but actively poured all of the concrete in this park. Mike’s intense dedication to quality and accuracy is a welcomed and highly desirable trait in a contractor.
